FAQ

We are thrilled you’re planning to join us to #guacdowntheaisle. A few questions have been popping up, so we decided to create a FAQ. Hope this is helpful!

Q: What is the closest airport to the wedding festivities?
A: The closest airport is National (DCA) but you may find better flight deals flying in and out of BWI. BWI is a bit farther away but it is best to check both.

Q: What’s the story with the cookie table?
A: This is a tradition we love – so we decided to incorporate it into our wedding. If you want to bake and bring cookies to #guacdowntheaisle, sign up here.

Q: Are there other events happening during the wedding weekend I should know about?
A: We’re hosting a small pre-wedding welcome dinner for family and some out of town guests. If you’re invited to that, the details are on the back of your invite to the main event.

Q: What time will the wedding festivities start and end?
A: Our wedding ceremony will begin at 10:30 AM on October 27. The reception will end at 4:00 PM.

Q: Wait, the ceremony and reception will be in different locations?
A: Yes, the wedding ceremony will take place at the Canopy Hotel and the reception will take place at Chuy’s. We’ll handle transportation from one place to the other. #partybus

Q: Will I need a car during the wedding weekend?
A: Transportation will be provided from the wedding ceremony to the wedding reception. Both wedding hotels are located within walking distance of shops and restaurants, but if you don’t have a car, you may need to take a Lyft or cab to non-wedding related activities.

Q: Why are there two wedding hotels? A: Since many guests are from out of town, we booked two hotel blocks: one at the Canopy Hotel (also the ceremony location) and the other at the Bethesda North Marriott. They’re about 5 minutes apart.

Q: How do I book a hotel room in one of the room blocks? A: Easy! Here’s the info:

The Canopy Hotel (also the ceremony location)
940 Rose Avenue
North Bethesda, MD 20852
Reserve a room online or by phone at (301) 882-9400. Please mention the Goodstein/Kelly wedding when you call.

North Bethesda Marriott
5701 Marinelli Road
Rockville, MD
Reserve a room online or by phone at (301) 822-9200. Please mention the Goodstein/Kelly wedding when you call.

Q: I have a car, but where will I park it?
A: You’re in luck! Parking is free at the ceremony and reception locations. More information about parking by the Canopy Hotel can be found here.

Q: How far is downtown DC from the wedding events?
A: Rockville is about a 30 minute drive from downtown DC. Here’s a map.

Q: Can I take the Metro to the wedding?
A: You can take the Metro to and from the Twinbrook or White Flint station for #guacdowntheaisle festivities. The Metro is also a great option if you’re staying in Rockville and have some time for sightseeing in DC… Here are the details.

Q: What about childcare?
A: Children are the future… but we’ve decided not to include little ones in #guacdowntheaisle. Please get in touch if you need help arranging childcare while you’re in town.

Q: I have some dietary needs. Who do I contact about that?
A: Our lovely event planner is the person to get in touch with! Her name is Vered and she’s super quick on email.

Q: Where are you registered?
A: We’re big believers of experiences over things, so we decided to register for our honeymoon and a massage fund! Details here.

Q: But what if I really want to give you a physical item for your wedding gift?
A: Thanks for wanting to give us a gift. We don’t need much, but we put a special registry together for folks who don’t want to participate in our honeymoon or massage fund.

Q: Where are you living these days?
A: Our house is under construction, so we are living in DC’s Georgetown neighborhood (thanks to two generous friends who are letting us stay in their house while they’re out of town for the next few months).

Q: What’s your mailing address?
A: We have a mailbox for all packages and snail mail since we aren’t living at our house in Columbia Heights. The address is 3220 N Street, NW #145, Washington DC, 20007.

Q: Who is officiating?
A: Rabbi Shira Stutman! We’re so excited for you to meet her.

Q: I’ve never been to a Jewish wedding before, what do I need to know?
A: We’re prepping a handy wedding zine to walk you through the ceremony. There will be glass smashing, wine drinking, a little Hebrew and lots of (happy) tears.

Q: I have other questions not covered by this FAQ. What do I do?
A: Vered, our fab event planner, is here to help. Send her a note.
